Video to MP3
PopularNewExtract the audio track from any video file and save it as an MP3, instantly and privately.
Your files are processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to any server, and your documents never leave your device.
What is Video to MP3?
A video to MP3 converter extracts the audio track from a video file and saves it as a standalone MP3 you can play anywhere. This tool decodes your video with FFmpeg running in the browser, discards the video stream, and encodes the sound with the LAME MP3 encoder at the bitrate you choose. Because everything happens on your device, it is safe to use with private recordings like meetings, voice memos, and interviews.

Frequently asked questions
Is my video uploaded to extract the audio?+
No. FFmpeg runs inside your browser via WebAssembly and the extraction happens entirely on your device. Neither the video nor the audio ever leaves your machine.
What bitrate should I choose?+
192 kbps is a good default that sounds transparent for most content. Choose 320 kbps for music you care about, or 128 kbps for spoken-word content where small file size matters more.
Does the audio lose quality?+
MP3 is a lossy format, so technically yes - but at 192 kbps or higher the difference from the original is inaudible for most people. The tool never adds noise or changes volume.
What if my video has no audio track?+
The tool will report an error explaining that no audio stream was found. It cannot invent audio that is not in the file.
Can I extract only part of the audio?+
Extract the full MP3 here, or first cut the video with the Video Trimmer tool and then extract audio from the trimmed clip for just the section you need.
