Video Trimmer / Cutter
PopularNewTrim, cut, or clip any part of your video by selecting a start and end point - no software installation needed.
Your files are processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to any server, and your documents never leave your device.
What is Video Trimmer / Cutter?
A video trimmer cuts a clip out of a longer video by keeping only the section between a start and end point you choose. This tool previews your video in the browser, lets you set the two points precisely, and then cuts the file locally with FFmpeg. In fast mode the video is cut without re-encoding, so trimming even a large file takes seconds and loses zero quality.

Frequently asked questions
Does trimming reduce video quality?+
Not in fast mode. Fast mode copies the video and audio streams without re-encoding, so the quality is identical to the original. Precise mode re-encodes, which allows exact cut points at a small quality cost.
What is the difference between fast and precise mode?+
Fast mode cuts at the nearest keyframe, which is quick and lossless but can shift your cut point by a second or so. Precise mode re-encodes the video so the cut lands exactly on the frame you chose.
Is my video uploaded while trimming?+
No. The file is processed by FFmpeg running inside your browser via WebAssembly. It never leaves your device.
Which formats can I trim?+
Common formats like MP4, WebM, and MOV work well. The trimmed file keeps the same format as the original in fast mode.
Can I trim multiple sections from one video?+
The tool cuts one section at a time. To keep several sections, trim each one separately and then combine them with the Video Merger tool.
