Fade In / Fade Out
NewAdd a smooth fade-in at the start or fade-out at the end of your audio track.

What is Fade In / Fade Out?
A fade tool smooths the start and end of an audio file: a fade-in ramps the volume up from silence, and a fade-out eases it back down instead of cutting off abruptly. Choose how many seconds each fade should last and FFmpeg applies clean volume envelopes in your browser. Perfect for finishing trimmed clips whose cuts would otherwise start or end with a jarring click.

Frequently asked questions
How long should fades be?+
For speech, 0.5-1 second is enough to remove abruptness. For music, 2-5 seconds sounds natural. The tool defaults to 2 seconds each and lets you adjust from there.
Can I add only a fade-out without a fade-in?+
Yes. Set either fade length to 0 to skip it - the tool applies only the fade you asked for.
Does fading change the rest of the audio?+
No. Only the faded seconds at the edges are touched; everything between plays at its original volume.
Is my audio uploaded?+
No. The fades are applied in your browser with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. The file never leaves your device.
What if my fade is longer than the clip?+
The tool caps fade lengths at half the clip duration so the fades cannot overlap and swallow the audio entirely.
